Eight Years of El Felipe: A Journey Made Possible by You
Eight years ago, El Felipe began with a small collection, a space at the Trendsetters Bazaar, and a simple dream: to create timeless Filipino-made clothing that people could confidently wear and proudly call their own.
We did not begin with a large store, an established name, or a wide network. We began with racks of clothing, countless preparations behind the scenes, and the hope that someone would stop, discover our products, and believe in what we were building.
Some of you were there.
You visited our earliest bazaars, placed your first orders, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, and returned whenever we released something new. To our customers who have supported El Felipe since Day 1—and to everyone who became part of our story along the way—thank you.
From a Small Bazaar to a Growing Filipino Brand

El Felipe officially began its journey in 2018 at the Trendsetters Bazaar. From those early face-to-face encounters with customers, we eventually built our webstore and expanded to platforms such as Shopee and Lazada, allowing our locally made products to reach customers around the Philippines.
The bazaars became some of our most meaningful early memories. They were long, tiring days filled with setting up racks, folding clothes, meeting first-time customers, reconnecting with familiar faces, and learning what people truly wanted from a local fashion brand.

When the pandemic changed the way everyone lived and worked, El Felipe’s entry into e-commerce also became an opportunity to give back. Through the BOGOHO Project—Buy One, Get One, and Help One—purchases helped provide assistance to families affected by COVID-19. It reminded us that even during uncertain times, a small business could still choose to serve its community.

Through every challenge, we continued creating, improving, and moving forward.
Seeing El Felipe Beyond the Screen

One of our most unforgettable milestones happened on October 1, 2023, when El Felipe opened its first physical store in Metro Manila at The Block, SM North EDSA.

After years of seeing our pieces primarily through screens, customers could finally walk into a dedicated El Felipe space, feel the fabrics, try on their favorite designs, and experience the brand in person once again. Friends, loyal customers, content creators, and members of our growing community joined us to celebrate that special moment.
From Metro Manila, El Felipe’s story also found its way to the islands.

What began in La Union grew into a wider island presence that brought Filipino-made apparel to Boracay, Bohol, Coron, and El Nido—destinations where local communities and travelers from around the world come together. Seeing our pieces worn against Philippine beaches, sunsets, and island landscapes helped shape El Felipe into the tropical Filipino lifestyle brand it is becoming today.
Making Fashion More Meaningful
In 2023, El Felipe formally strengthened its identity as a local sustainable fashion brand.
We committed ourselves to making more responsible choices—not only in the clothes we produce but also in how our products are made, packed, and delivered.

Through the years, El Felipe has supported tree-planting and reforestation, ocean-bound plastic retrieval, carbon-offsetting projects, ethical local production, waste-reduction practices, and carbon-neutral shipping. We moved away from conventional plastic packaging and introduced plant-based cassava bags, recycled paper packaging, compostable materials, and other more responsible alternatives.

With the support of our customers, hundreds of trees have been planted and more than a thousand plastic bottles have been collected before they could further pollute our oceans. Every order has helped turn an everyday purchase into a small but measurable contribution to something greater.

Our mission has also extended beyond environmental sustainability.

Through our partnership with the New York-based nonprofit Feathers Project, we have supported programs for vulnerable and underserved Filipino communities. The collaboration led to initiatives such as The Hope Hoodie, where fashion became a way to help create hope and meaningful opportunities for fellow Filipinos.

El Felipe has also joined the Noel Bazaar and World Bazaar Festival, helping support the charities and foundations connected to these events. Through these holiday bazaars, we were able to promote Filipino-made fashion while contributing to causes that support children, education, disaster response, the environment, and underserved communities.
Growing Beyond Fashion
In April 2025, we opened another chapter with the launch of El Felipe Barbers in Malabon.
It was a natural extension of our belief that style is not limited to what a person wears. Style is also about confidence, self-expression, craftsmanship, and the care people put into presenting themselves to the world.
What started with a few barber chairs, a small team, and a big vision has grown into a community-centered space offering grooming services, locally developed products through Barber’s Reserve, and the Barbers Blend coffee experience.
Through clothing, grooming, coffee, and locally crafted products, El Felipe continues to grow into a Filipino lifestyle brand grounded in quality, accessibility, and purpose.
A Milestone We Never Expected

In 2025, El Felipe received its first international award when it was named Leading Sustainable Fashion Brand 2025 – Philippines at APAC Insider’s Southeast Asian Business Awards.

The recognition celebrated the collective impact behind every tree planted, every plastic-free package, every ocean-cleanup contribution, every carbon-neutral shipment, and every community initiative supported by the brand.
More recently, El Felipe’s journey was also featured in a published business case study exploring sustainability, circular fashion, vertical manufacturing, and the realities of building a purpose-driven Filipino enterprise in a price-sensitive market.
For a brand that began at a small bazaar, becoming part of an academic and international conversation about responsible entrepreneurship is an achievement we share with every person who helped us continue.
This Celebration Is for You
These eight years have given us countless memories: our first bazaar, our first online orders, late nights preparing collections, parcels sent across the country, our first physical store, our arrival on the islands, the opening of El Felipe Barbers, our sustainability partnerships, and our first international recognition.
But behind every milestone is a customer who chose to support local.
You allowed Filipino craftspeople to continue creating. You helped us provide work and opportunities to members of our community. You helped fund tree planting, ocean-plastic retrieval, carbon-offsetting, and initiatives that uplift Filipino lives.
El Felipe would not be here without you.
